Tuggar discusses South Africa’s allegations against Israel, emphasizing diplomacy’s diminished role

Tuggar, in a conversation with Arise TV during the 54th annual World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, discussed the aftermath of the October 7 attack by Hamas. This event led to sustained Israeli attacks on Gaza, causing a division in the international community. Approximately 25,000 civilians lost their lives in the attacks. The global response is split, with some condemning Israel for the civilian casualties, while others argue that Israel has the right to defend itself against terrorist attacks.

Two weeks ago, the South African government initiated legal proceedings against Israel at the International Court of Justice (ICJ), asserting that the Israeli government’s assault on Gaza, particularly the conduct of its forces within the region, amounted to genocide. Israel, in response, refuted the allegations and claimed that South Africa was collaborating with terrorists in an attempt to undermine the existence of the Jewish nation.
