Malawi and Zambia collaborate for thriving digital market

Malawi and Zambia have recently signed a Diplomatic Data Corridor Agreement and a Government-to-Government Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a bridge across the digital divide, thereby fostering an affordable and accessible digital market.

These agreements, inked in Lilongwe, aim to facilitate the provision of cost-effective internet, made possible through the collaboration of Electricity Supply Corporation of Malawi (ESCOM) and Fibrecom of Zambia.

Moses Kunkuyu, the Minister of Information and Digitalization, highlighted that these agreements will enable Malawi to develop a low-cost internet solution, enabling its citizens to harness opportunities arising from reduced data expenses.
