Hungary to deploy troops to Chad

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban is moving forward with plans to station around 200 soldiers in Chad after meeting with Chadian President Mahamat Idriss Deby Itno in Budapest. Orban emphasized Chad’s crucial role in controlling migration from the Sahel region to Europe, stating that migration cannot be curbed without cooperation from Sahel countries. With its strategic location bordering Sudan, Libya, Niger, and the Central African Republic, Chad is a key Western ally in maintaining regional stability and addressing migration issues.
