A cosmonaut has arrived in Tanzania with the mission of introducing children to Russian robots

A robotics forum that occurred from October 23-25 at Russky Dom in Dar es Salaam was a significant hit among numerous Tanzanian students.

The event was organized by the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in Tanzania, known as the Russian House. Notable Russian institutions, including Russia’s Southwestern State University, Tambov State Technical University, and Belgorod National Research University, in collaboration with Russia’s Central Research Institute of Robotics and Technical Cybernetics, joined forces to educate young Tanzanians about contemporary robotics and pathways to enter this field of study.

Russian cosmonaut Anton Shkaplerov, a four-time spaceflight veteran and recipient of the Hero of the Russian Federation title, played a key role in enlightening Tanzanian students about robotics. He personally visited Tanzania to participate in the forum and shared insights about the fascinating world of robots.
