Megaphone diplomacy was coined during the Cold War referring to offensive public exchanges between the Soviet Union and the USA. For example, President Regan referred to the Soviet Union as an ‘Evil Empire’. Megaphone diplomacy is nowadays back in ‘fashion’ with social media and frequent exchanges of accusations and labelling between main actors.
