Geneva, Switzerland, 13 December 2017: The book An Introduction to Internet Governance, by Dr Jovan Kurbalija, has been selected as the Book of the Month for December by the United Nations Library in Geneva.

IG BookThe book is recognised worldwide as a leading publication on digital governance, covering the policy aspects related to infrastructure, security, economic, legal, digital rights, socio-cultural, and development issues. It provides a comprehensive overview of the main issues and actors in the field through a practical framework for analysis and discussion. The book, which is now in its seventh edition, has been translated into 10 languages and has been adapted as a textbook for academic courses worldwide.

Dr Kurbalija, director of DiploFoundation and Head of the Geneva Internet Platform, has been a pioneer in the field of cyber diplomacy since 1992. A former diplomat, Dr Kurbalija’s research and articles on cyber diplomacy have shaped research and policy discussion on the impact of the Internet on diplomacy and international relations.

Meet-and-greet at the 12th Internet Governance Forum

The latest edition of the book will be distributed during the upcoming Internet Governance Forum, the annual international gathering of digital policy practitioners, which will this year be held on 18-21 December in Geneva.

Dr Kurbalija will host a meet-and-greet at the IGF. Details will be announced on Diplo’s IGF 2017 programme of activities.
