Isabella Cheloti-Mapelu
Dr. Isabella Mulemia Cheloti-Mapelu is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Hospitality and Tourism, Department of Hospitality, Tourism and Travel Management, Murang’a University of Technology, Nairobi Kenya. She is an expert in the area of Hospitality Operations Management which mainly entails practical training and research in the area of Hotel and Hospitality Management. She has a PHD in Tourism Management. She also trains students in tourism related issues especially travel and tourism Economics. She has a wealth of experience when it comes to supervising students in the areas related to Tourism, Hospitality and Travel. She has been doing this for the last sixteen (16) years. Additionally, she has participated in training workshops and seminars that relate to Hospitality Training, Packaging and Marketing the North Rift as a Tourist Destination and Creating Demand for Tourism and Hotel Services in the North Rift Circuit. She has developed Nine (9) Policy documents within and without the University including one for Turkana County on “Feasibility Study Report for Labokat and Kataboi Eco-Lodges in Turkana County.”
Besides teaching at the University she has authored two books. One an academic read book titled “Tourist Expenditures and Its implications on Tourism Enterprises. A Focus on the Kenyan Coast. The book is widely used at University as a reference book.
The Second book is titled “Humanity at War with the Invisible Enemy: The Rage of COVID 2019 Pandemic.” This book is a general read book. It aims at educating the reader about COVID 19 from a social science perspective. It also looks at the handling of COVID 19 by different countries, the different impact to countries of COVID 19 and the role of Vaccinations in Helping countries to normalize their lives.
She has additional expertise in travel since she has a Diploma in Foundation in Travel and Tourism with Amadeus and hence she is IATA (International Air Transport Association) certified.
