Virtual Diplomacy in the Age of the Pandemic: Evolution or Revolution?

20 May 2021, 17:30 CEST

Webster University Geneva’s Department of International Relations is pleased to host an online panel discussion on digital diplomacy on Thursday, 20 May, at 17:30 CEST. This event is open to all who are interested.

The COVID-19 pandemic has created many uncertainties and challenges, and the world of international diplomacy is no exception.

At the heart of diplomacy lie the skills of negotiating, networking, and influencing. However, adapting these skills to the new environment has presented many new problems and challenges. How to adapt to a virtual space? How to build trust and confidence? How to negotiate and achieve consensus and agreement? How to ensure the security and confidentiality of communication?

In the upcoming panel discussion, our distinguished speakers will address these questions and discuss potential solutions.
