Ten years after the Council of Europe’s Convention on Cybercrime was opened for signature in Budapest, an interactive discussion was held to mark the 10 year anniversary, on 24 November 2011 at the Palais des Nations in Geneva. Diplo’s Dr Jovan Kurbalija, and Dr Eduardo Gelbstein, former director of the UN International Computing Centre, discussed a number of questions, including: What are the main challenges of cybersecurity? How can the right balance between security and human rights be achieved? What can be learned from the last 10 years of the Cybercrime Convention? Is the Cybercrime Convention a solution for global cyber problems?
