Every month, Diplo – as operator of the Geneva Internet Platform (GIP) – hosts briefings on digital tech and policy issues for Geneva-based diplomats. On 30 November 2023, our briefing will focus on neurotechnology and its policy implications.
Apple co-founder Steve Jobs once said that ‘the biggest innovations of the 21st century will be at the intersection of biology and technology’. In recent years, advancements in neurotechnology, driven by AI developments, have brought arguments in favour of this ‘prediction’.
Against this backdrop, the briefing will:
- Explore recent developments in the field of neurotechnology, with a focus on the interplay between brain-computer interfaces and AI.
- Discuss the ethical, human rights, and societal implications of neurotechnology advancements.
- Unpack the concept of neurorights and map the policy initiatives and processes where these are addressed.
This is an invitation-only event.
