Our first briefing for Geneva-based diplomats in 2025 – on 29 January – was dedicated to the topic of data governance.
We explored the following questions:
- What do we talk about when we talk about data?
- What are the issues in focus in data governance debates?
- Data localisation and cross-border data flows: what is at stake, and is there a middle ground?
- What does the interplay between data and AI mean for governance debates? Who does what on data governance at an international level?
- What next in global debates, including the dedicated working group at the CSTD level?
