A Roundtable on Cybersecurity was hosted by the Policy Research and Analysis Unit of the South African Deparment of International Relations and Cooperation. It gathered diplomats, security officials, and academics from South Africa.
Dr Jovan Kurblija, Director of DiploFoundation and Head of the Geneva Internet Platform, delivered a presentation – Cybersecruity: A new threat to peace and security. Other presentations included South Africa’s cybersecurity policy framework and Management of cybersecurity in the public sector: Africa playing catch-up. The debate focused on the ways and means in which South Africa can join international academic, research, and policy initiatives in the field of cybersecurity.
