Malta, Mexico and Switzerland promote online diplomatic training

25 June 2009

Malta, Mexico and Switzerland concluded an agreement to promote online diplomatic training. The agreement was signed in Geneva on 25 June 2009, by the ambassadors of Malta, Mexico and Switzerland. It established a legal framework enabling public or private institutions in the three countries to carry out co-operative activities for the development and delivery of online courses in the areas of global governance, and to organise conferences, workshops and seminars on online diplomatic training.

Two institutes were initially designated to carry out these activities – Diplo, jointly sponsored by the Maltese and Swiss Governments, and the Matias Romero Institute, sponsored by the Mexican government.
