International Conference – Challenges for Foreign Ministries: Managing Diplomatic Networks and Optimising Value

31 May 2006 - 01 June 2006

Geneva

This conference addressed the complex environment faced by foreign ministries the world over, both abroad and at home. Domestic and external issues merge and influence each other in ways that no one anticipated even a decade ago. The conference particularly focused on the foreign ministries of countries with limited financial and/or human resources. It facilitated experience sharing, with academics contributing to the wider objective of producing optimal value from foreign ministry systems, winning support from their stakeholders and publics. The conference resulted in the publication of a volume entitled Foreign Ministries: Managing Diplomatic Networks and Optimizing Value, edited by Ambassador Kishan Rana and Dr Jovan Kurbalija.
