Webinar briefing: Internet governance in November
The main Internet governance event this month was undoubtedly the 10th Internet Governance Forum in João Pessoa. The week was packed with discussions on privacy, freedom of speech, cybersecurity, infrastructure, liability of intermediaries, e-commerce, net neutrality, the IANA transition, and much more. How will these discussions – and other developments which took place in November – shape future developments, and what can we expect in December? Join us online, or in situ, for our next webinar briefing on Tuesday, 24th November, at 12:00 UTC (13:00 CEST). Follow the link to register.

Geneva Engage: E-participation in practice
The availability of the Internet in conference rooms introduces the possibility of more inclusive and open international negotiations, offering locally organised events the potential to have a wider outreach and a greater impact. E-participants enrich discussions physically taking place in the conference room, and at the same time, the event enjoys global exposure and, more importantly, fosters greater inclusion in global policy processes. DiploFoundation and the Geneva Internet Platform, in co-operation with the Republic and State of Geneva and the Permanent Mission of Switzerland to the UN and Other International Organisations in Geneva, will organise the Geneva Engage conference on 7-8 December 2015, with the aim of addressing e-participation as a way of contributing to more effective and innovative policy processes in International Geneva. Diplo extends an invitation to online participants to join in the discussion. A special call for local hubs is also being made. Learn more and join the conversation.
What's been happening in Diplo's blogosphere
The interplay between science and diplomacy is rich, as Dr Jovan Kurbalija illustrates in Ten Points on Science (and) Diplomacy. In his post, he summarises the main points from his keynote address at the conference ‘The CERN Model, United Nations and Global Public Goods’.
The post on Radiocommunication Diplomacy – Historical Context provides excerpts from the lectures on Evolution of Diplomacy and Technology by the same author.
