Diplo at the 9th Internet Governance Forum
The Diplo/Geneva Internet Platform team is in Istanbul for the 9th Internet Governance Forum (IGF). If you are in town, come and see us at our booth or attend one of our numerous events. We will be preparing daily summaries, so stay tuned.

Geneva Briefing on Internet Governance – live from Istanbul
Join the Geneva Briefing on IG webinar on Tuesday, 2nd September at 13:00 CET. This month the briefing takes place live from the IGF in Istanbul. Asia-Europe Public Diplomacy Training Initiative
Diplomats from ASEM countries are encouraged to apply for the second online course Listening and Engaging: Public Diplomacy in Asia-Europe Relations. An invitaiton for nominations has been sent to all Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) ministries of foreign affairs. 2015 Master in Contemporary Diplomacy
The application deadline is approaching quickly for the 2015 Master in Contemporary Diplomacy, and the Master in Contemporary Diplomacy with an Internet Governance Specialisation. These unique postgraduate programmes, offered in cooperation with the University of Malta, include a 10-day residential workshop in Malta followed by 16–20 months of online learning. Please visit the Master in Contemporary Diplomacy webpage to read more and to apply. The programme starts on 2 February 2015. The deadline to apply for international applicants is 1 October 2014 and for Maltese applicants it is 15 November 2014.

Event summary: MIKTA diplomacy: New dynamism or more of the same?
MIKTA countries (Mexico, Indonesia, Republic of Korea, Turkey and Australia) and Diplo recently convened a seminar to provide the opportunity for the academic and diplomatic community to share views and perspectives on how MIKTA can influence the agenda of International Geneva in diverse issues such as health, humanitarian affairs, trade and UN reform. Cybersecurity Winter School
The Geneva Centre for the Democratic Control of Armed Forces (DCAF) and Diplo are organising a 'Cybersecurity Winter School' for public officials, corporate sector representatives, graduate students, and members of civil society and the media from the Western Balkans and Moldova. Discussing Internet Governance
Digital policy will feature prominently in the EU’s priorities for the next five years. In 10 points for the EU’s future digital policy, Dr Jovan Kurbalija highlights the main 'digital' points in European Commission President-elect Jean-Claude Junker’s Policy Guidelines.
In Internet governance update: Geneva Briefing on Internet Governance (August 2014), Vladimir Radunovic summarises the main IG developments during the summer, and talks about expectations for this year's IGF, which is taking place in Istanbul this week.
On Diplo’s IG community, Virginia (Ginger) Paque announces the nominees for a civil society speaker for the closing session of this year’s IGF. The selection process took place on the community platform. In Call for comments – Shape IGF Best Practices!, Ginger shares a call for comments issued by the IGF Secretariat. The deadline is 5 September.
