New Diplo Workshop on Diplomatic English
Alumni Training and workshops Language (and) diplomacy EventsDiplo offers a new workshop on Diplomatic English by Biljana Scott and Liz Galvez. It focuses on improving diplomatic communication skills through practical tasks like writing, public speaking, and media interviews. The workshop was commissioned by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Moldova and was well-received by participants ranging from junior attach to director-level. This is the first of three workshops Diplo will conduct in Moldova.

Online Course on Humanitarian Diplomacy at the General Assembly of the Red Cross Movement 2012
Alumni Courses Humanitarian diplomacy EventsAmbassador Chris Lamb and Dr. Jovan Kurbalija introduced a new online course on humanitarian diplomacy at the General Assembly of the Red Cross Movement in 2012. The course emphasizes persuasion, advocacy, and negotiations, with Diplo's learning methodology highlighted. The presentation garnered interest, with a participant sharing positive feedback. Registration deadline was set for December 7, 2011, and the course was scheduled to start on February 6, 2012.
Master in Contemporary Diplomacy graduation 2011
Alumni Courses Contemporary diplomacy EventsNine candidates graduated from the Master in Contemporary Diplomacy program at the University of Malta and DiploFoundation in 2011, with research topics ranging from women in conflict management to diplomatic communication trends. The graduation ceremony was held at the Jesuits Church in Valletta, Malta. Diplomacy faculty members facilitated and supervised the graduates' work.
Diplo director speaks at College of Europe’s int’l conference
Alumni Panels and conferences Capacity development, Digital diplomacy EventsDr. Jovan Kurbalija discussed capacity building for e-diplomacy at the College of Europe's international conference. He highlighted the challenge of cognitive illusion in using social media effectively, emphasizing the need for sustained learning and adaptation. Dr. Kurbalija proposed a structured approach to e-diplomacy capacity building, spanning one day for technical training, one month for individual proficiency, and one year for institutional readiness. Additionally, he was appointed as a visiting professor at the College of Europe. Follow-up resources include his blog post and live tweeting from the event (#coleurope).
Diplo director addresses Presidents of Parliaments of small European states

The conference adopted a Joint Declaration to enhance parliamentary diplomacy, including plans for training and capacity building in the field.

Alumni Training and workshops Capacity development EventsAn Internet Governance Training Workshop is being organized by the Burundi Youth Training Centre in Bujumbura on 28-29 June 2011, with support from Diplo and the Centre Africain de Complmentarit Scolaire. The event focuses on local and regional Internet issues to boost youth competitiveness in the job market by enhancing digital skills and knowledge.
