The term ‘e-diplomacy’ describes new methods and modes of conducting diplomacy and international relations with the help of the Internet and information and communication technologies (ICTs).

The term also refers to the study of the impact of these tools on contemporary diplomatic practices. E-diplomacy may be considered a sub-set of e-governance. Related (and interchangeable) terms include cyber diplomacy, net diplomacy, and digital diplomacy.

E-diplomacy has been declining in the usage of the last few years comparing to cyber diplomacy and digital diplomacy.
