The Wi-Fi Alliance is a global non-profit industry association composed of companies that deliver Wi-Fi to consumers.

The mission of the alliance is to: foster highly-effective collaboration among stakeholders; deliver excellent connectivity experiences through interoperability; embrace technology innovation; promote the adoption of Wi-Fi technologies worldwide; advocate for fair worldwide spectrum rules; and lead, develop and embrace industry-agreed standards.

The Wi-Fi Alliance runs a certification programme aimed to test and certify that Wi-Fi products work well together, deliver interoperability, industry-standard security protections, and the latest technology. The alliance has so far certified more than 30 000 products, involving a significant portion of the world’s data traffic in an expanding variety of applications.
