The Messaging, Malware, and Mobile Anti-Abuse Working Group (M3AAWG) is an industry association dedicated to fighting online abuse.

The group was founded in 2004, and it now has over 200 members including telecommunications companies, Internet Service Providers, Email Service Providers, social networking companies, leading hardware and software vendors, major brands, major antivirus vendors and security vendors.

M3AAWG's work is focused on various forms of 'online abuse', including spam, malware, viruses, botnets and DoS attacks. The group functions as a collaborative platform where members gather to share information and good practices in fighting such types of abuses, as well as to develop cooperative approaches in this regard.

The group develops and publishes best practice papers, position statements, and capacity building materials aimed to assist the online community fight abuse. Some of the published best practice papers address issues such as: mobile messaging, anti-phishing, anti-abuse practices for hosting and cloud service providers, email forwarding, etc. M3AAWG also provides advice to public authorities on developing Internet policies and legislation.
