Stakeholder group: International and regional organisation

Ifri is France's leading independent research and debate institution. It is dedicated to analyzing international issues and global governance. Founded in 1979, it is chaired by Thierry de Montbrial and directed by Thomas Gomart.

The institute brings together a multinational team of fifty collaborators, including about thirty permanent professional researchers who are divided into 11 research units with regional focuses on Europe, Russia/NIS, Asia, North America, Sub-Saharan Africa, Turkey/Middle East, and cross-cutting issues such as Security and Strategic Affairs, Energy and Climate, Geopolitics of Technology, Space, and Migration and Citizenship.

Ifri's theoretical and policy-oriented research aims to illuminate international events and provide a broader perspective. This approach is particularly beneficial for political and economic decision-makers, academics, opinion leaders, and civil society representatives, aiding them in making informed decisions.
