Stakeholder group: NGOs and associations

The European Max Planck Group on Conflict of Laws in Intellectual Property (CLIP) was established in 2004 by a group of scholars working in the fields of intellectual property and private international law.

In addition to research work, CLIP is also providing advice to law makers at national and European Union level, on  issues of jurisdiction, conflict of laws and recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments.

The group has ellaborated a set of Principles on Conflict of Laws in Intellectual Property (CLIP Principles). These principles cover international jurisdiction, the applicable law, and recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments in the field of intellectual property. They also touch upon issues related to the applicability of intellectual property rights in the digital environment.
