Call for Applications: Internet Governance Capacity Building Training Programme 2007

DiploFoundation is currently accepting applications for the 2007 Internet Governance Capacity Building Training Programme. This programme is primarily designed to improve Internet Governance related knowledge and skills for participants from developing countries and to facilitate community building among individuals with different national, cultural, and professional backgrounds.
 
The programme is aimed at young professionals from diverse stakeholder backgrounds in IG-related fields and is open to individuals from all around the world. Participants from developing countries are eligible to receive full scholarship support. The programme includes an online training phase, a research phase, and capacity building fellowships will be awarded to a number of participants in the programme.

The eight-month programme commences on 1 March 2007. The online training phase runs from March to July 2007, followed by a research phase from July to October 2007. Fellowships placements will be offered from July 2007 through to 2008. The deadline for applications is 10 February 2007.

EU Protocol Chief Reveals All

Diplomatic protocol is about respecting the hierarchy, precedence, and values in diplomatic relations. Although protocol may look like routine and boring ritual to outsiders, in fact it involves a great deal of hidden meaning and symbolism. In a recent article in the EUobserver, the European Union head of protocol shares his inside experience of the oddities of EU statesmen, of power politics in protocol diplomacy, and of security concerns.

INSEAD Knowledge

INSEAD is a business school with campuses in both Europe and Asia, based in France and Singapore. The school originated in Europe as a non-national management education institute and was subsequently extended to a campus in Singapore. INSEAD offers a variety of on-line educational programs with telecommunication links and high-speed data access enabling real-time video conferencing and web links for lectures, seminars, and conferences. The INSEAD Knowledge website offers a searchable database of articles and books, many relevant to ICT and IG issues.
