Paul Kennedy at the Geneva Diplomatic Book Circle

The next meeting of the Geneva Diplomatic Book Circle will take place Thursday, 12 June 2008 at 1:00 pm, at the Auditorium Jacques Freymond of the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (132, rue de Lausanne, 1202 Geneva). Paul Kennedy, Director of International Security Studies at Yale University, will present a lecture on “The Parliament of Man.” A reception will precede the presentation at 12:30 pm at Graduate Institute cafeteria. Islam in Contemporary International Affairs

The Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy is offering a summer school on the topic “Islam in Contemporary International Affairs” from 11-20 July 2008. The summer school is a certificate program designed to bring scholars, experts, summer school faculty, and students together to discuss and better understand Islam in its global context. The academic content complements policy discussions with diplomats and experts from appropriate areas. A special emphasis of the course is cross-cultural dialogue and understanding of Islam as a religion of peace and social justice.
