Welcome to the first edition of DiploNews

The goal of this electronic newsletter is to provide brief news items and relevant web links to the diplomatic community and those interested in the uses of Information Technology (IT) in diplomacy. While the main beneficiaries of the information from this newsletter should be diplomats and officials of foreign ministries and international organisations, it may also be a useful medium for others involved in or interested in diplomacy (NGOs, students, journalists, etc.). In addition, we plan to keep you updated on the progress of the various Diplo Projects operating out of the Mediterranean Academy of Diplomatic Studies. DiploNews will focus especially on assisting diplomats from developing countries and those from countries with limited financial and/or human resources to participate more fully in international relations.

Details of the newsletter

There is no charge to receive the newsletter – all that we ask in return for your subscription is feedback. Let us know us you find a particular item especially interesting or useful. Send us interesting items that you see in your local media or on the Internet. The newsletter will be sent as the need arises – as often as we find interesting material but not more often than once a week. Please feel free to forward the newsletter to your colleagues, but encourage them to subscribe on their own. The initial edition of the newsletter is being sent to a list of recipients compiled from the mailing lists of the Mediterranean Academy of Diplomatic Studies. If you do not wish to receive the newsletter simply send a short message to diploedu@diplomacy.edu and we will remove your name from the list.

In order to subscribe, remove yourself from the list or submit items for inclusion in the newsletter, please write to diploedu@diplomacy.edu .

We are currently compiling information for the first letter which you will receive in the next few days. Until then, best wishes from the DiploTeam.
