Humphrey Njogu

Dr Humphrey Njogu (Doctor of Engineering-Computer Science) has more than 18 years of experience in the field of Information and Communication Technology and most of these years spent working as an ICT policy advisor with the leading public think – the Kenya Institute for Public Policy Research and Analysis (KIPPRA). He has played roles of Digital Economy Analyst, Cyber security researcher, Head of ICT services, ICT trainer, ICT Policy Advisor, Principal Research Scientist-ICT, Senior Lecturer, ICT specialist, Network Specialist, Software Engineer, IT and security expert.  He has participated in various national assignments including but not limited to:

  • Technical writer on proposals for Electric Mobility and smart cities solutions (2024)
  • Technical Working Member to develop National Urban Transport Policy (2024)
  • Technical working Member to Develop the Road Sector Investment Programme (2024)
  • Taskforce member (co-opted) for Drafting Cybersecurity Regulations (2023)
  • Taskforce member for Drafting National Space policy (2023)
  • Taskforce member (co-opted) for Drafting National Cybersecurity Strategy (2022)

Dr Humphrey Njogu is trained by BRICS and JICA on Fourth Industrial Revolution and Emerging Technologies. He has published in the world authoritative journals of Information Security -Elsevier and Wiley and in the World premier conferences. His research interests include public policy research on Digital Economy; Digital Trade; Emerging Technologies; Data privacy; Data Sovereignty; Securing digital economy; Smart cities and homes; Intelligent Economy; Renewable Technologies and Electric Mobility.
