Students graduate Master in Contemporary Diplomacy – 2018

Eleven students have graduated Master in Contemporary Diplomacy from the University of Malta and DiploFoundation. Six of the students undertook a specialisation in Internet governance.

The graduates and their research topics were: 

Anda Valla-Efendija – The impact of education diplomacy on the education sector in Eastern Africa: Case study Kenya.

Asmerom Girma Asmerom – Nations cybersecurity maturity: Case study on Ethiopia.

Diego Garcia Doval – European Union external action structure: Beyond state and intergovernmental organisations diplomacy.

Eugene Matos – Using diplomacy to circumvent Caribbean small island state fragilities:  A study of economic, regional and public diplomacy.

Frank Uzochukwu Oli – Impact of digitisation on the economic sector of developing countries: a case study of Nigeria.

Hanane Boujemi – Policy and regulatory challenges to deploying blockchain technologies.

Olita Ha’ina Mo’uta Tupou – Digital diplomacy as a foreign policy statecraft to achieving regional cooperation and integration in the Polynesian Leaders Group.

Ryan Johnson – International multistakeholder cyber threat information sharing regimes: Policy considerations for scaling trust and active participation.

Setaita Tupua Kalou – A clash of grand strategies between Russia, United States of America and Turkey for greater power and influence in the Middle East.

Terry Remy Rose – Barriers to conflict resolution in Africa: Mediating beyond power and ethnicity in the EAC and SADC countries through a Kenyan case study.

Tichafa Rixon Mujuru – Motivating multistakeholder participation in Internet Governance issues in Zimbabwe.

The graduation ceremony took place on 27 November at the Jesuit’s Church in Valletta, Malta. View the photo gallery.

The graduation was the culmination of months of study. DiploFoundation congratulates the students on their graduation, and thanks its faculty members who supervised the work of these graduates.

The blended learning Master/Postgraduate Diploma in Contemporary Diplomacy, offered through the University’s Department of International Relations, includes a 10-day residential workshop in Malta, followed by 16 to 20 months of online study. Applicants may select Internet Governance as an area of specialisation within the Master/Postgraduate Diploma in Contemporary Diplomacy. The next programme starts in February 2019.
