CyberMediation: the impact of digital technologies on the prevention and resolution of violent conflicts

07 November 2018 -

Geneva, Switzerland

The UN Department of Political Affairs, DiploFoundation, the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue,  and swisspeace have joined forces in March 2018 to develop an initiative to explore how digital technology is impacting the work of mediators in preventing and resolving violent conflicts. During this session, participants will hear from practitioners about their experience of how mediators are incorporating digital tools in their work and how they are dealing with the new challenges resulting from the development of new technologies. The CyberMediation partners will also report on their initial findings in a number of areas including social media, data for mediation and artificial intelligence for mediation.

The event will take place on Wednesday 7 November 2018 from 09:00 to 10:15 at the United Nations Office Geneva (UNOG), Room XI.
