Diplo and the Geneva Internet Platform will be participating at the IGMENA Summit on 30 September-2 October, in Tunis, Tunisia. Diplo’s Dr Tereza Horejsova, will be sharing perspectives on two global-to-local support projects that have contributed to capacity development in the MENA region.
Since 2012, the IGMENA programme has been on the forefront of developing and reinforcing knowledge as well as building capacity on Internet governance in the Middle East and North Africa. The IGMENA Summit will reflect on achievements and formulate relevant steps and strategy for the future.
The IGMENA Summit 2016 organisers have chosen four broad themes relevant to the MENA region that address a number of subthemes: transparency and inclusiveness of the decision-making process, the legal framework of human rights in the digital sphere, quality of service (Internet infrastructure, access, bandwidth), internet and sustainable development.
