Background:

2015 has been a year with significant developments in digital policy, dominated by the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) negotiations, the role of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the Sustainable Development Agenda, and progress in the Internet Assigned Number Authority (IANA) transition. At the same time, the balance between cybersecurity versus privacy and freedom of expression was extensively discussed, e-commerce has increasingly been changing existing business models and a dichotomy is emerging between net neutrality principles and the provision of basic Internet services. What are the consequences of these developments for 2016? And how will these developments affect digital policy making in Indonesia? Join us for a discussion on digital policy to find out where we stand and where we are going in 2016.
