[Webinar] The Arab IGF: discussion amid conflict

29 August 2013 -

Online

The Arab Spring and the recent developments in the MENA region have heightened the need for discussing priority areas in Internet governance with a wider public. The Arab Internet Governance Forum (IGF), which takes place in Algiers 1-3 October, represents a new opportunity to bring stakeholders to the same table.

The August Internet governance webinar will focus on the preparations leading up to the Arab IGF. It will be hosted by Hanane Boujemi, member of the UN’s advisory group of the Arab IGF, and executive coordinator of Hivos’ MENA region programme on Internet governance.

The webinar will explore the aims of the second Arab IGF, the priority issues for the MENA region which will be tackled at the forum, and how stakeholders from the region can participate in this important process.

Join us next Thursday, 29th August, at 14:00 GMT. Webinar participants will be able to discuss the topic with our host. Attendance is free; registration is required.
