Scenarios Building Seminar: Improving Cooperation in SEE through Developing the e-RCC

25 June 2012 - 26 June 2012

Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina

DiploFoundation, in cooperation with the Central European Initiative (CEI) and Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) and with support from the European Commission, has organised a two-day eDiplomacy seminar in Sarajevo on 25 and 26 June, addressing RCC members and aiming to develop an e-RCC concept.

The Regional Cooperation Council, the successor of the Stability Pact for South Eastern Europe, focuses on promotion and enhancement of regional cooperation in South East Europe (SEE) and supports European and Euro-Atlantic integration of the aspiring countries. To strengthen its work, the RCC is currently studying how to embrace good eDiplomacy practices and implement the variety of etools into its operations.

With support from the Central European Initiative and funded by the European Commission, Diplo and RCC will jointly work on developing the e-RCC concept based on the RCC’s specific needs. The e-RCC concept will be a basis for implementing a comprehensive digital proceedings eco-system that should involve a variety of etools including teleconferencing, shared databases, social media and others.

The project started with a two-day internal seminar which served as an interactive assessment of the state-of-the-art in SEE, in terms of ICT answers to the needs and expectations of the RCC members, of their economic and social convergence to the standards of EU acquis, and to a higher degree of internal cohesion for the development of an e-RCC concept and methodology by raising awareness on, and knowledge of, eDiplomacy tools.
