Master/PGD in Contemporary Diplomacy starts again in 2011

31 January 2011 - 09 February 2011

Malta

The DiploFoundation-University of Malta 2011 Master in Contemporary Diplomacy Workshop (31 January – 9 February) was attended by 17 applicants from Grenada, the British Virgin Islands, Zambia, Sierra Leone, Austria, Uganda, The Congo, the USA, Ireland, Morocco and Malta.

The group dynamics were excellent, with everybody pulling together and working together as a team. More experienced participants joined the lecturers and organizers in helping aspiring diplomats to engage effectively in the interactive discussions and simulations. This year, for the first time, new exercises included ‘Meet the Press’ session as well as a Crisis Management simulation, involving the MFA, the Consular Office, the Media and the ‘victims’. The effectiveness of the workshop proved the value of beginning this programme with this in situ element, which emphasizes skills that cannot be learned effectively online.

Congratulations to the new class of 2011, we look forward to meeting you again at
graduation.
