Diplo’s recent workshop on Internet Governance and ICT, held in Addis Ababa, played an important role in the setting up of the first Africa Internet Governance Forum.
The catalyst workshop was organised on 6-8 April, in co-operation with the African Union (AU) and the United Nations Economic Commission in Africa (UNECA). The workshop formed part of a series of planned activities under Diplo’s Capacity Development Programme for ACP countries, sponsored by the European Commission and the ACP Secretariat.
During the workshop, the African Union and UNECA confirmed they would support the organisation of the Africa Internet Governance Forum.
