The Diplomatic Academy of Norway

The Diplomatic Academy of Norway is a Human and Financial Resources Department division. It is responsible for recruiting highly qualified personnel for all foreign service positions and ensuring sound financial management throughout the Service.

The Academy's primary mission is to enhance the Foreign Service's competence. It achieves this by engaging in strategic planning, developing guidelines, and implementing tools. This includes managing strategic skills, designing and executing courses, providing managerial training, conducting preparatory courses for employees being deployed abroad, organizing meetings for posted employees, facilitating the induction of new employees, and administering the Foreign Service Trainee Programme. Furthermore, it operates distinct units for language training and translation services.
