The Academy is responsible for training, retraining, and providing advanced training for civil servants.

One of the components of the Academy is the Institute of Diplomacy. The Academy has organized training programs for civil servants and provided opportunities for internships in foreign partner universities and international organizations, as well as at the diplomatic missions of the Republic of Kazakhstan and leading diplomatic schools. It has also promoted the development of social and professional networking and peer learning and provided accommodation in the House of a young civil servant.

The Academy's three Master's programs: "Public and Local Administration", "International Relations", and "Law", have been accredited by AQA (Austria). It has also engaged leading foreign and Kazakhstani experts, practitioners of public administration, and the diplomatic service to teach specific disciplines. The Academy aims to become a centre of excellence in professional education and capacity building for the MFA staff, public officials from other state institutions in Kazakhstan, and representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited to Kazakhstan.
