The Instituto Matías Romero is Mexico's diplomatic academy, established in 1974 by the Secretaría de Relaciones Exteriores. Its main functions include coordinating academic evaluation processes for the Mexican Foreign Service (SEM), providing training for members of the Mexican Foreign Service and Chancellery officials, promoting academic-diplomatic collaboration with national and foreign institutions, disseminating Mexico's foreign policy and international issues through conferences, radio programs, and publications, and managing the Chancellery Museum.

One of its notable publications is the Mexican Foreign Policy Magazine (RMPE), which has been circulating since 1983 to promote Mexico's foreign policy and international relations.
