The Open Connectivity Foundation (OCF) is a not-for-profit organisation whose aim is to contribute to ensuring that Internet of Things (IoT) devices can communicate with one another regardless of manufacturer, operating system, chipset, or physical transport.

To achieve this aim, OCF is working on creating specifications for interoperability across connected devices. It has also initiated the IoTivity project - an open source software framework intended to enable connectivity for the emerging needs of the IoT by delivering a reference implementation of IoT interoperability specifications.

OCF’s membership includes companies from diverse markets, such as: automotive, consumers electronics, enterprise, healthcare, industrial, wearables, etc.
