The North American Network Operators Group (NANOG) is a non-profit organisation that brings together engineers from major North American carriers, content providers, hosting and cloud companies, data centers, and interconnection service providers. The aim of the organisation is to contribute to improving data transmission technologies, practices, and facilities that make the Internet function. 

NANOG has three meetings per year, which are dedicated to discussions, sharing of good practices, and exchange of experiences on issues that are of concern to Internet backbone operators. Such issues include, among others: network connectivity, inteconnection, network management, routing and switching protocols, wireless networks, the Domain Name System, the Internet of Things, etc.
