Qatar’s global security diplomacy
Qatar is using diplomacy to bolster regional relations, stabilise global energy markets, and secure greater energy cooperation. The country is using its relationship with Turkey to coordinate on a number of regional security questions including the Palestinian issue, the Horn of Africa, Libya, Syria, and Afghanistan. Qatar’s relations with diverse actors, including the Taliban, the USA, Iran, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia, positions the country as an important conduit and mediator demonstrating its growing role in the global security landscape.
